Mirko Cvetković

Mirko Cvetković ( Serbian Cyrillic Мирко Цветковић; born August 16, 1950 in Zaječar, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian politician and served from 2008 to 2012 Prime Minister of the country.

He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Economics and worked for ten years in the Mining Institute. From January 2001, he worked as a representative of the Minister of Economy and Privatization and from 2003 to 2004 he was director of the Privatisation Agency. He then headed the consulting agency Intercon.

Since 15 May 2007, the non-party Cvetković was Serbian Minister of Finance. After the parliamentary elections in 2008, he was nominated as Prime Minister by Boris Tadić of Serbia and elected by Parliament on 7 July.
