Miroslav Soukup

Miroslav Soukup ( born November 13, 1965 in Prachatice ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Soukup played for Tatran Prachatice, RH Zizkov and again Tatran Prachatice. In 1990, the midfielder went to Germany and joined the TV Freyung. From 1995 to 1997 and from 1997 to 2001 he was player-coach at FC salt route and in Freyung.

Coaching career

Soukup began his coaching career as an active player yet: from 1995 to 2000 he was head of the junior section at Tatran Prachatice. At the same time he was a player coach in Salt Path and Freyung. In the 2001 / 02 season, he took over the first team Tatran Prachatice in the 3rd League ( CFL) and led the team to second place. A year later, Soukup celebrated with the team championship in the CFL and the associated rise in the second league. Sokup charge of the team until the winter break and was subsequently replaced by Karel Musil. In the years 2003 and 2004 Soukup was also responsible for the junior level at Dynamo České Budějovice.

In early 2004, Soukup assistant coach at the 1 FC Brno. He held this post until April 2008. Also in 2004, took over the Czech U18 Selection Soukup. In the U-19 Football Championship 2006, he led the team to the semifinals, bringing the team for the Junior World Cup 2007 qualifying. In Canada, the U20 reached the final, which was lost with 1-2 against Argentina.

After this success, Soukup joined as an assistant coach Vítězslav Lavička the Czech Under-21 team. As of May 2008, the Czech trains the Egyptian U20 selection.

Achievements

  • Master CFL and promotion to 2nd league 2003 Tatran Prachatice
