Mirosław Hermaszewski

Mirosław Hermaszewski ( born September 15, 1941 in Lipniki ) is a pilot and former cosmonaut. He was the first Pole in space.

Life

Mirosław Hermaszewski 1971 was graduated from the General Staff Academy in Warsaw. The pilot of the Polish Air Force was included as a cosmonaut in the Intercosmos program on 25 November 1976. In 1978 he flew on Soyuz 30 as Research Cosmonaut with the third visiting team to the space station Salyut 6 with its landing on July 5, 1978 Hermaszewski retired from the cosmonaut corps from.

Hermaszewski attended the Military Academy of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces " KJ Voroshilov "in Moscow, he closed his studies there in 1982 successfully. In 1981 he was one of twenty officers, member of the " Military Committee for National Salvation of Poland". Later he became a brigadier general and commander of the officer school of the Polish Air Force ( Wyższa SzkoĹ Oficerska Powietrznych SIL ) in Dęblin. Currently, Mirosław Hermaszewski head of aviation security in the Polish Air Force and adviser to the defense minister of Poland.

At the request of the children, he received the International Award as a Cavalier of the Order of the Smile.

Hermaszewski is married and has two children. His daughter Emilia is the wife of conservative politician Ryszard Czarnecki.
