Mirza Delibašić

Mirza Delibašić ( born January 9, 1954 in Tuzla, † December 8, 2001 in Sarajevo) was a Yugoslav basketball player.

Mirza Delibašić " Kinđe " led his club KK Bosna Sarajevo the title of the cup winners ' Cup in 1979. After leaving KK Bosna, he went to Spain and is regarded, along with Juan Antonio Corbalán, Wayne Brabender, Drazen Petrovic and Arvydas Sabonis as one of the best players who have ever played for the " Royal " from Real Madrid.

Mirza Delibašić won with the national team of Yugoslavia all major titles, including the Olympic gold medal in 1980, three European Championships, the 1978 World Cup and many titles in the European club competitions.

By also originating from present-day Bosnia Dražen Dalipagić he played for the national team and Real Madrid. Her appearance in the 1981 State Champion Cup match against KK Cibona in Zagreb is just one of their many common career highlights. 2000 Mirza Delibašić was voted athlete of the 20th century in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2007 he was accepted as one of the first players posthumously inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame.

Mirza Delibašić was posthumously honored in May 2008 as one of the fifty major personalities of the sport of basketball in Europe. The ceremony was performed by the Euro League Basketball at an official ceremony at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, Madrid (Spain).
