Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge

The Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge is a nature reserve in the south of the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is named after the endangered at the mouth of the Mississippi type of crane Canada (English: Sandhill Crane ).

This is under the supervision of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service refuge was established in 1875. It is divided into four sections and covers a total of 19,000 acres, nearly 77 square kilometers of savannah with sporadic pine stock.

The head of the National Park is also the person responsible for the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge in Alabama and the Grand Bay National Wildlife Refuge (Mississippi / Alabama).
