MIT Press

MIT Press is a university press based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is published for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT ), but is an independent company.

The first book in the archives of MIT Press comes from the German physicist Max Born, the 1915 and 1926 were two lecture series on the topic of Problems of Atomic Dynamics at MIT. The book was still being published by the Institute itself. The publishing house was founded in 1932 with support from MIT as imprint called Technology Press. 1962, the publishing house was independent and at the same time took on its current name. The publisher has to date over 8000 books published publishes about 200 books a year.

The Journals Division was established in 1968 and was soon after the first journals, the Journal of Interdisciplinary History and Linguistic Inquiry out. Today, about 40 scientific journals are published by MIT Press.

Along with the Boston Review published the publishing books with the name Boston Review Books
