Mnichov (Cheb District)

Mnichov ( German Einsiedl ) is a municipality in Okres Cheb, Czech Republic. It is located 10 km northeast of Marianske Lazne.

History

On July 10, 1437 the site of the city was raised. Jobst of Einsiedl was secretary to King George of Podiebrad and knighted later. 1549 died in the place almost completely and had to be repopulated. 1637 was the city's jurisdiction. 1727 Karl VI. the trade route from Eger to Prague arranged by Einsiedl. Einsiedl belonged since 1850 to the Judicial District Tepl and 1888 were the jurisdiction Marienbad slammed.

Economic Development

In the Middle Ages beer was brewed in the town. In addition, there were several mills. By the end of the Second World War, there were in place a brewery, a sawmill and toys production.
