Mogwai Young Team is the debut album by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. It was released in October 1997.
Style
For the most part it is on the album by instrumental pieces - only " RU Still in 2 It" contains vocals, added words rather cryptically spoken to other pieces of the album. Striking feature is the length of some pieces (two have a playing time of over ten minutes, two more of about seven).
Musically, most of the items limited to the instruments electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and some piano / keyboard. Partially come but also instruments such as flute or bells used.
Reception
The album received very good reviews. So Allmusic gave the record four and a half out of five, Pitchfork Media, on the occasion of a new edition of the year 2008, 9.2 out of 10. Pitchfork leads the album also on his list of the Top 100 Albums of the 1990s at number 97
