Mohammad Ali Araki

Mohammad Ali Araki (* 1895 in Arak, Qom † 1994 ) was a Shiite cleric with the title " Grand Ayatollah ".

Araki, who lived in Qom and taught until his death, was silent opponents of Khomeini principle of rule of law scholars. After his death Khamenei was trying to take over the vacant post of Grand Ayatollah. The clerics in Qom were opposed to this application to ultimately Khamenei as saying:
