Mohammad- Taqi Bahār (Persian محمد تقی بهار; born November 6, 1884 in Mashhad, † April 22, 1951 in Tehran ), also known as Malek osh - Sho'arā (Persian ملک الشعراء, king of poets, originally his title as Oberhof poet of the Shah ) and Malek osh - Sho'arā Bahār, was a renowned Iranian poet and scholar. It can be regarded as the greatest poet of Persian modernism. In addition, he was a politician, journalist, historian and professor of literature. Although he was a poet of the 20th century, his poems were marked by very traditional and strong nationalism.

As a writer and as a politician, he took an active part in the Constitutional Revolution of 1906. From 1916 he participated in the Society for Literature Daneschkade, which had set a goal to write "With new thoughts antique Verses". As a professor at Tehran University, he was one of those who contributed to the development of literary history.

His inspiration he drew from the life of his time - it was politically, socially and morally dominated. Its spectrum of activity included all lyric forms, but especially those of the Qasidas. He was a master traditional elements harmoniously with elements of modern language ( here archaisms with elements of everyday language ( and dialects ) to join. With its expansion of inspiration and means of expression, he exerted a great influence on the poetry of the 20th century.
