Moi dix Mois

Moi dix Mois is the solo project of Mana, the former guitarist and leader of the influential Japanese visual - kei band Malice Mizer.

The project

On 19 March 2002, three months after the end of Malice Mizer, Mana announced the formation of his solo project Moi dix Mois. When Moi dix Mois Mana is not only a guitarist, he also composed all the music, writes the lyrics, designs the costumes and acts as a producer and general artistic director. Moi dix Mois CDs (and DVDs ) are of Manas independent record label Midi: Nette transferred and sold in Europe in partnership with Trisol, Mabell France and Gan Shin.

The project name Moi dix Mois translated means something like " I ten months ." After Manas information "I " ( moi ), because it is a solo project, the number 1 represents the beginning, the number 0 stands for eternity and the number 10 stands for the period of pregnancy (in Japan does not expect one to nine, but ten months ).

That Mana "The Creator of Moi dix Mois " is called and thus represents about his project members, has met with some fans to criticism. He has made it clear from the outset that this is not a new band, but his solo project at Moi dix Mois. This is much to read on all CDs, DVDs, and promotional material. This means that the other while contributing their vocal and musical talents, but ultimately only perform Manas artistic vision.

Support members

Little is known about the other project members. Tohru was formerly the drummer for JILS and was only some time after Juka and Kazuno an official member of Moi dix Mois, while being played from the beginning drums for the band. K was a guitarist in Grand Zero (under the name Takeru ) and Kazuno to have worked in one of Manas Moi - même - Moitié stores, before joining Moi dix Mois.

On April 24, 2005, after the last concert of the "Invite to Immorality " tour in Tokyo, singer Juka left the project. In December 2005 Kazuno and Tohru followed for personal reasons and after a long search, the new vocalist Seth was introduced in March 2006.

Seth worked rumored under the name Seiji in the groups Afterimage and Amadeus, and is currently a member at Brain Hacker. However, this has so far not been confirmed officially. The fact that Seth has the same tattoos as Seiji, could so far not be confirmed yet.

Sugiya ( electric bass) and Hayato (drums) supported as a live support member, the project - both in 2006 took place Beyond the Gate tour as well at the gig on the 15th Wave -Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig in June 2006. are no fixed members of the project. Hayato is a former member of, inter alia, Blue, oxides, JILS and is still active as a support member for ENDLESS next to Moi dix Mois. Sugiya was previously a member of Platina Forest (under the name SUGI ), Vanilla, KuRt ( Support Member) and GHOST MOUSE CLUB, each under the name Kuro Kosugi (クロ·コスギ).

Music

The music of Moi dix Mois is reminiscent of the late phase of Malice Mizer. Galloping spinet and church organ, electric guitar, Juka's dramatic tremolo man's voice, or Seth's technically very similar voice, which sometimes assist a woman's voice and fast, hard drums combine to create a diverse and energetic sound between crossover, metal and classical elements. The built- classical elements stem from Manas fascination with Johann Sebastian Bach ago. Manas texts for Moi dix Mois are darker and more personal than the one he wrote for Malice Mizer, and move between romantic melancholy, deep depression and despair.
