Mokutaro Kinoshita

Mokutarō Kinoshita (Japanese木 下 杢 太郎, real name: Masao Ōta (太 田 正雄); born August 1, 1885October 15, 1945 ) was a Japanese writer and physician.

The trained dermatologist traveled to China and Manchuria in 1916 and was honored for his dermatological research with the French Légion d' honneur. He has published poems in poetry magazines such as Subaru and Okujō Teien. His works include the poetry collection Shokugo no uta and the spectacle Irumiya somemonoten. A twelve- volume complete edition of his works appeared in 1948-1951 ( Kinoshita Mokutarō Zenshu ).

He taught at the University of Tokyo.
