Moldomusa Kongantiyev

Moldomussa Taschbolotowitsch Kongantijew (Russian Молдомуса Ташболотович Конгантиев; born March 31, 1958 in Mailuussuu, Kyrgyz SSR ) is a Kyrgyz politician and former Minister of the Interior.

Life

1979 Kongantijew began the service in the executive branch. From 1979 to 1985 he worked as a policeman for the protection of state-owned banks. He then worked until 1991 in the fight against looting, and from 1991 to 1993 to combat organized crime.

1989 Kongantijew graduated from the State University studying Law.

From 1995, he was with the Department to combat organized crime in the district Schalalabatski. In 1998 he was there personnel manager. He was appointed as Chairman of the inter- regional department of internal affairs at the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan Osh and Schalalabatski 1999 and this was to 2000.

From 2005 to 2008 he was chairman of the city administration in Bishkek.

On 14 January 2008 he was appointed Minister of the Interior of Kyrgyzstan. After the Cabinet of Igor Tschudinow had resigned closed on 20 October 2009, he was appointed on 22 October 2009 under Prime Minister Danijar Üssenow again in this office.

Unrest in April 2010

In the course of the riots of April 2010, there was uncertainty about the status of the politician. Citing official sources, news agencies had reported that Kongantijew had arrived in the town of Talas killed. After these messages he was taken hostage by protesters and beaten up by them. It should be then died on the way to hospital. This message was denied government sources. On 8 April 2010, he was severely drawn, but alive, shown in a television report. As the new Minister of the Interior began the previous opposition Bolot Schernijasow.
