Moldovan parliamentary election, 1998

The parliamentary elections in Moldova in 1998 took place on Sunday 22 March 1998.

Electoral system

It seats 101 were determined in the Moldovan Parliament for a term of four years. For approved parties was a four -percent electoral threshold. Was selected by proportional representation.

Election result

Election winner was the Communist Party of Moldova ( PCRM ). She took 30.01 percent of the vote and thereby received 40 seats in parliament. In second place ended up with 19.42 percent of the electoral bloc " Democratic Assembly of Moldova " ( BeCDM ). Third strongest force was the electoral bloc " For a democratic and prosperous Moldova " ( BepMDP ) with 18.16 percent.
