Mon Repos (Vyborg)

Monrepos (Russian Монрепо / Monrepo, from French Mon repos; My resting place ) is north of the center Wyborgs situated in Russia Landscape Park near the Finnish border. The manor house dates from the early 19th century and was from 1788 until the Second World War, the barons of Nicolay.

Geography

The park in the north of Vyborg comprises approximately 180 hectares and is located in a forest south of a tributary of the Vyborg Bay. History

Before the family Nicolay, the governor of Vyborg the owner, Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Prince of Württemberg, who later became King Frederick I of Württemberg was. He is also attributed to the naming of the estate. In 1788 he sold Monrepos to Ludwig Heinrich von Nicolay, secretary of the young Paul I..
