Mon ( German and until 1943 officially Mons ) is a municipality in the district of Albula Alvaschein in the district of the canton Graubünden in Switzerland.

The dove is the emblem of the monastery Ragaz and increases to its founding legend reference. The two Spitzberg is the name of the community to point ( mountain).
Geography
The community is a bunch of village above the Julia and is located on the northeastern slope of the Piz Curvér southwest of Castel depth. Of the total municipal area of 851 ha 500 ha of woods and forests are covered. More 312 ha is arable. In addition to 23 hectares of unproductive area ( Mountains) includes the municipality area for a further 16 ha settlement area. The municipality consists of mountain pastures such as Zozas.

Languages
Up to the period before the Second World War the church was pure Romansh. The inhabitants speak Surmeirisch. In 1880 it was 100 % in 1941 still 96%. Since 1970, the percentage falls Romansh. The sole official language of the community is still Romanesque.
Backgrounds and nationalities: From the end of 2005, 91 inhabitants, 87 were Swiss nationals.

The small church of St. Cosmas and Damian is below the village. The paintings date from the 15th century.
