Mondscheiner

Mondscheiner was an Austrian rock band, cabaret artist and actor group, which was founded in 2002 in Vienna. In 2009, the band broke up.

Band History

Beginning

The mid-nineties there was the predecessor group of Mondscheiner together as Kaberettistengruppe, a majority of the members were incidentally also a sound engineer, an actor and amateur musician. Initially, German -language texts were written by a part of the band for the cabaret. The musical career of the group began in 2002 as the band Mondscheiner officially founded.

The first successes

First Fans Mondscheiner earned in the Viennese local scene. 2003, the band brought out their first EP The Art of Seduction. In 2004 they played with famous bands such as clover, garish and Wir sind Helden. In the same year came the debut album " La belle captive" on the market, has achieved first successes media, however, it was commercially very successful. 2005 took a part of the band to Linz to do there as actor group their way. Meanwhile, the other was part of the group not the musician commitment by, but paused in this area. Shortly after they separated by Karl Kühn.

Recording contract and commercial breakthrough

In the spring of 2006, the record company Sony BMG Music Entertainment, the band under contract. In July of the same year, their debut single was played What we are for the first time on a radio station ( Ö3 ).

Shortly after, the band to opening act of Silvermoon and the Austria tour was taken.

Even at the end of this summer they released their second album This city, which was far more successful than the other CDs. The song What we are reached after several months in the Austrian charts in tenth place.

The end of 2006, the band separates unexpectedly by Heimo Korak. July Skone is the successor to the percussion. Since early 2007, the group in the play King Lear is seen in Klagenfurt.

The band wins the qualification for the title song of the ORF Series Set in the 8s, the flagship program of reform. The number " middle" is also the second decoupling of the newly launched album. The single was - like the series - with little success, which perhaps also because was that it was barely present in influential radio broadcasts.

This day and last album

In May 2007, she will be with the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the category " Newcomer of the Year " award.

The third single from the album, This day rose far more successful than its predecessor in the Ö3 Austria Top 40. A short time later it was announced on the Mondscheiner website that the band was working at that time already on a new album. The band said they wanted to focus more on that with which they went into the race a few years ago.

The published on 23 January 2009 album is titled Songs & Daughters. The first single was released on January 9, 2009 and bears the name of The Silence.

In November 2009, the band announced to separate after a tour in early 2010.

• Manuel Rubey was in early July 2007 as the lead in the Falco Falco Biography - Damn, we're still alive! presented. The tape itself acts as a performer with the Hallucination Company.
