Monika Cassens

Monika Cassens ( born February 28, 1953 in Prestewitz as Monika animals ) is a former German badminton player.

Career

In her birthplace Tröbitz they learned the badminton game in the BSG activist Tröbitz. For this club, they also won the first national and international laurels, including nine junior titles, three GDR team title, twelve titles in the individual disciplines and the third at the European Junior Badminton Championship 1971 in Gottwaldov. After her marriage to the badminton player Claus Cassens she moved before the season 1974/1975 for SG Gittersee, from where it was in 1976 delegated the power center HSG Lok HfV Dresden. Overall, they battled 1968-1990 45 items (17 × Single, Double 16 × 9 × Mixed, 3 × team) in the GDR in the adult area. After the turn she played in the badminton league. Monika Cassens won 101 international tournaments.

After the end of their sporting careers Monika Cassens moved from Dresden back to Tröbitz, where she lives today.
