The Baie du Mont Saint- Michel ( German Bay of Mont Saint -Michel ) is a bay in France. It is located between Brittany and the west of the Cotentin Peninsula in the east (or rather Avranchin ). In the bay of Mont -Saint- Michel, who gave it the name is. Together with the Mont Saint -Michel is one of the bay to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The bay covers an area of ​​approximately 500 square kilometers. In the West it starts at Cancale near Saint- Malo. In the east it extends approximately Carolles south of Granville. The tidal range is particularly strong and is more than ten meters. The most important tributaries of the bay are the Couesnon, the Sélune and Sée.
