Montagny- lès- Buxy is a commune with 220 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Saône -et -Loire in Burgundy.

Geography

Montagny- lès- Buxy located in the southern part of the Côte Chalonnaise, about 38 kilometers south of Beaune and 16 km southwest of Chalon -sur -Saône at an altitude 245-415 m above sea level and is part of the department of Saône -et -Loire.

History

Already 885 the place was mentioned as Montanum as a function of the Church of Lyons. Later, the place belonged to the bishop of the chapter of Saint-Vincent de Chalon.
