Monte Zoncolan

It is located in the Italian region Friuli- Venezia Giulia, about 20 km south of Plöcken Pass. The mountain can be reached via a mountain pass that connects the two places Ovaro and Sutrio together.

Ski resort

In recent years, was built on the eastern side of the mountain one of the most important ski areas in the Friuli- Venezia Giulia region. At an altitude of 900 m to 1995 m the skiers are 13 lifts and 22 km of ski runs. From Ravascletto from a Funifor aerial tramway leads to the summit of Monte Zoncolan, with the help of visitors can reach the ski area. Cycling

The Monte Zoncolan has become known primarily for cycling. The ascent to the summit is one of the steepest and most difficult in the whole of Europe. In the years 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2011 was the mountain stage finish of the Giro d'Italia.   • Ovaro - West driveway

The west driveway of Monte Zoncolan is considered a one of the toughest climbs in cycling. As a comparison can only climb to Alto de Angliru in Spain are used.
