The Moonie River is a river in the western Darling Downs in the east of Australia. It rises west of Dalby in Queensland and then flows south across the border into New South Wales. It flows south-west Mungindi in the Barwon River. In the catchment area of the river there are no major cities and it is very flat. There is a dam on the river, the Thallon Weir with a capacity of 185,000 m³.

The source of the river lies to the east of Tara. It flows through the towns of Flinton and Nindigully and then passes Thallon in the West. The largest tributary of the Moonie River is the Teelba Creek, more are the Farawell Creek and Toom Billa Creek.
