Homicide Istanbul is a German - thriller series after the Özakın novels of ZDF presenter Hülya Özkan.

Protagonists of the series are Özakın Commissioner, played by Erol Sander, and his assistant Mustafa, who is played by Oscar Ortega Sánchez. His wife Sevim Özakın is played in episodes 1-3 and 6-9 of İdil Uner, in episodes 4 and 5 of Sascha Laura Soydan.
