Mordoğan means in Turkish "Purple birth" ( Mor = Purple / Purple; Doğan = born; Mordoğan of shows from the sky at sunrise a strong purple staining).

The tranquil Aegean fishing and tourism village located in the district of Karaburun town of Izmir in Turkey. Mordoğan located on the eastern coast of the Karaburun peninsula on the pristine Gulf of İzmir. The town is 80 kilometers from Izmir and daily serviced by minibuses and in the summer months of Foca with boats. In a drive-through, you reach the small town of Karaburun ( Kara = Black; Burun = nose), which got its name from the peninsula. During a tour around the peninsula (eg by scooter or bicycle) is obtained from bay to bay changing impressions of the landscape.

The small town is known for its daffodils, its beaches (eg Ayibaligi, Ardic, Kütlücek ), its sea caves and the Fork Mountain ( Catalkaya ). The daffodils, fish, olive oil and herbs (such as oregano, thyme) from Mordoğan are required at weekly markets in Turkish cities. Mordogan has a number of smaller accommodation and restaurants. The place is ideal for hunting, fishing, diving, hiking and surfing.

The tourist center Çeşme is 40 kilometers away.
