Morganza is located on the west bank of the Mississippi. The city's name is derived from a non distant former plantation. The majority of the population are white.

Only slightly upriver of Morganza Spillway is located, a building on flood relief for the lower reaches of the Mississippi River, is on the right, the western shore of the place.
