Moritasgus

Moritasgus is the name of a Celtic god of healing who was equated by the interpretatio romana with Apollo.

Location and etymology

The name is Moritasgus ( today Roman province of Lugdunensis Alise -Sainte -Reine ) to find three dedicatory inscriptions from Alesia, where he is named along with Apollo. The third inscription also mentions the goddess Damona as his companion. In the sanctuary numerous votive offerings were found for Moritasgus.

Moritasgus was also the name of a remote Caesar senone chief. Moritasgus is translated " Big Badger " - as the European badger produces a secretion that was used by the Druids as a remedy, a relationship can be assumed for the salvation of God here. In Birkhan ( " nail ", " peg " ) is also a translation with mori ( "sea" ) and TADG ( " poet " ) or TaskOS called with all the skepticism because of the question meaning.
