Mors Principium Est

Mors Principium Est (Latin: Death is [ only ] the beginning) is a company incorporated in Pori, Finland 1999 Melodic Death Metal band.

Band History

Mors Principium Est In 1999 was founded by the band members Jori, Jarkko and Toni in Pori, Finland. At this time there was no drummer, but still in the same year came Mikko added to the band. Jori took over lead guitar and vocals, Jarkko played rhythm guitar and Toni played on the keyboard. For a time the band played in this constellation - the beginning of 2000 had Jori but sick of singing, and the band had to find a new singer. At this point, Ville had just left his former band and joined Mors Principium Est.

The first demo was recorded even without bassist, but after Listenable Records became aware of the band, they took in 2001 to Teemu. In 2002, the Finns finally signed a contract for three albums. This contract was fulfilled with the albums " Inhumanity " and " The Unborn " in the years 2003 and 2005, and the release of "Liberation = Termination" in March 2007. The second album also ended the membership of the lead guitarist and main songwriter Jori, who had decided to leave the band. A mutual friend, Karri Kuisma, was hired as a session guitarist, but is still looking for a replacement for Jori.

Style

The style of Mors Principium Est differs significantly from most other Melodic Death Metal bands. One feature is that the band almost continuously maintains a high tempo with little slow passages in their songs. Some of the transitions between songs are also fluent. Another peculiarity are often twin guitar solos, supported by a keyboard and partially arrhythmic, but still suitable drums. The vocals are growling rhythmically in most cases, in a few songs (Pure, The Animal Within ) but is also heard a female voice. Compared with other bands of the style is comparable to that of In Flames, but much faster and more brutal.
