Moses Gunn

Moses Gunn ( born October 2, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, † December 16, 1993 in Guilford, Connecticut ) was an American actor.

Gunn began his career as a stage actor in the 1960s and was co-founder of " Negro Ensemble Company". His first Broadway appearance was Jean Genet's The Blacks in 1962. 1976 he was nominated for the Tony Award as Best Actor for the play The Poison Tree.

Gunn was particularly well known in the role of Bumpy Jonas in the first two Shaft films. He also starred in "Little House " the role of Joe Kagan.

Gunn died in December 1993 from the effects of an asthma attack.
