Moses Samuel Zuckermandl
Moses Samuel sugar almond (sweet Mandl, born April 24, 1836 in Uherský Brod, Moravia, † January 27, 1917 in Breslau) was a Moravian- German rabbi and Talmudist.
Zuckermandel was a pupil of Samson Raphael Hirsch in Mikulov, studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary in Breslau and, at the local university. In 1863 he became a Doctor of Philosophy.
He was chief rabbi in Trier, Pleschen ( Prussia ), and finally Breslau, where he was appointed on April 1, 1898 to the faculty of the Mora - Leipziger Foundation. Most of his scientific works dealing with the Tosefta and delivered the first critical versions based on different manuscripts (especially the Erfurt manuscript).
