Moshe Unna

Moshe Unna (Hebrew מֹשֶׁה אוּנָא, born November 22, 1902 in Mannheim, † February 21, 1989 in Israel) was an Israeli rabbi and politician.

Life

Unna was the Knesset HaChasit haDatit haMe'uchedet, HaPo'el haMisrachi and Mafdal 1949-1969.

He attended the Agricultural College and the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin and received a diploma in agriculture. He was a member of the Jewish youth movement Blau-Weiss and the youth movement of Mizrachi.

In 1927, the aliyah in the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, where he worked in orchards. 1931 and 1933 he returned to Germany. In 1934 he took part in the Children and Youth Aliyah.

In 1935, he was among the founders of the religious kibbutz movement (Hebrew הקיבוץ הדתי, Hakibbutz HaDati ) and worked as its secretary until 1974.

In 1937 he founded Tirat Zvi (Hebrew טִירַת צְבִי, lit. Zvi Castle), a religious kibbutz in the Emeq ha - Ma'ajanot. In 1940 he became a deputy in the Parliament of Palestine to the Mandate and the Jewish National Council ( JNC ) (Hebrew ועד לאומי, Va'ad Le'umi ).

He was then a member of the Executive Committee of the HaPo'el haMisrachi and served as its treasurer from 1942 until 1949. 1944 he moved to Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu the (Hebrew שְׂדֵה אֵלִיָּהוּ, lit. Elijah field).

In 1949 he became member of the Knesset of Mafdal ( NRP). On March 22, 1956, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Education in Israel, where he held this office until 31 December 1957. On January 13, 1957 he was again appointed deputy minister of education and left the Cabinet on 1 July 1957, when Mafdal ( NRP) left the government.
