Mosjøen

Mosjøen is a town and a former municipality and city stacks in Norway. It is situated between two mountains at the end of a lowland river on Vefsna, just before its confluence with the Vefsnfjord. In the city the administrative seat of the commune is Vefsn. With about 9,631 inhabitants ( 2011) Mosjøen is one of the largest cities in the province of Nordland.

Along with Mo i Rana and Narvik is Mosjøen one of the industrial towns of Nordland. The town is one of the largest aluminum smelters in Europe. In addition, among other things, make commerce, trade, finance, transport and tourism from a varied economic life.

The town is a regional communications center and by train to reach across the airport Mosjøen and by their connection to the European Route 6 well. The harbor, which consists of both public and private wharves, is one of the largest in North Norway.
