Mosor

The Mosor is a section of the Dinaric coastal mountain range in southern Croatia.

It extends to about 25 km between Split and the mouth of the Cetina River near Omis in the region of Central Dalmatia. The highest peak is Veliki Kabal ( 1339 m).

The karstic slopes of Mosor consist mainly of limestone. He is forested in water and sparingly.

From the late Middle Ages to the beginning of the 19th century was the Mosor heartland of the semi-autonomous republic Poljica.
