Mosque of Islamic Solidarity

The Mosque of Islamic Solidarity ( engl. Mosque of Islamic Solidarity, Somali: Masaajidka Isbaheysiga / Masjidka Isbaheysiga; Arab جامع التضامن الإسلامي, DMG Ǧāmi ʿ at- Tadamun al -Islami ) is a mosque in Mogadishu, capital of Somalia. It is the main mosque of the city and is considered the most important mosque in the Horn of Africa. The 'm from the Saudi government with money from the Fahd Abdul Aziz Al Saud Foundation -funded mosque was opened in 1976 ( the other claims to 1987), Prince Sa'ud al - Faysal, the Saudi foreign minister, was present at its inauguration. After the outbreak of the Somali Civil War it was closed in 2006 it was after the rise of the Union of Islamic Courts (Islamic Courts Union) reopened.

It stands on a hill near the center of town, just a few hundred meters from the Indian Ocean close to the Federal Parliament.
