Moti Special
Moti Special was a German synth - pop band that originated in 1981 in Hamburg. The founding members were Manfred " Tissy " Thiers ( vocalist / bassist ), Michael Cretu ( keyboardist ), Reinhard " Dicky " Tarrach ( drummer ) and Nils Tuxen (guitarist ). All members were already experienced professional musicians who have simultaneously been involved in other projects; but also together, as in 1980 for Peter Cornelius ' Album Two.
The name " Moti Special" goes back to a sharp, Indian dish, the vocalist Manfred " Tissy " Thiers had eaten in a London restaurant.
History
Although already established in 1981, the commercial success of the group found only in the mid- 1980s. Their greatest successes were the songs Cold Days, Hot Nights and Do not Be Shy so that each top-10 hits in Germany in 1985. Complement this, the first album was released in motivation. It was produced in the Data Alpha Studios in Munich and came in 1985 in the charts. Producers were Michael Cretu & Armand Volker. Michael Cretu and Manfred " Tissy " Thiers have a short time later founded the project " Cretu & Thiers " and have since no longer have appeared under the name " Moti Special".
However, 1990 saw a second album of the band. Dicky Tarrach and Nils Tuxen had teamed up for this purpose with the new bass player Anders Mossberg and the new vocalist / keyboardist Frank Ardahl ( Ådahl ). However, the commercial success did not come.
