The Motorola Moto G (own spelling: moto g) is a smartphone, which was presented by the manufacturer Motorola on 1 November 2013. It is since 13 November 2013 Brazil and the European Union, available in the United States and Canada and from 14 January 2014 in Asia as of 2 December 2013.

The Moto G is closely related to the published in August 2013 high-end smartphone Moto X, but in the other performance differences by the use of the processor model (gesture control, camera resolution). So the Moto G is designed as an inexpensive entry-level and mid-range model. Unlike the Moto X Moto when the backs are removable and G by the different colored backs ( shells) or by magnet fixed hinged cases (Flip shells) that the display will automatically turn on when you open, be replaced.

Hardware

The smartphone has a 4.5 -inch, with Corning Gorilla Glass -protected 3, IPS display with a HD resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. This results in a pixel density of 329 ppi.

The Moto G is equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 ( MSM8x26 ), 1 GB RAM, 8 or 16 GB of memory and a Qualcomm Adreno 305 GPU.

The operation of the mobile phone via the touch screen as well as the volume buttons and the on-off switch. The Moto G uses a micro - SIM card. In some regions, a dual SIM version is also available.

Software

The smartphone comes with Android 4.3.1 " Jelly Bean", since 20 December 2013, the current version of Android 4.4.2 " KitKat " is available for the U.S. version.

The Android system was taken over almost unchanged from Motorola, the equipment was supplemented only with Google Apps, a camera app and the manufacturer's own apps "Motorola Migrate ", " Assist" and "Moto Care."

Beginning of December 2013, Motorola has released the source code for the Moto G for free and users thus have the ability to customize the operating system components according to your wishes.

Availability

This smartphone was announced on November 13, 2013 by Dennis Woodside, CEO of Motorola Mobility in São Paulo and was only a few days later, available in the 8- GB version in Germany. The first 16 GB models have arrived before the end of 2013 with the customers.
