Motör Militia

Motör Militia is a Bahraini thrash metal band from Sar, which was founded in 2001 under the name Black Star. She is the first thrash metal band of the country, which could release an album on an independent label.

History

Abdulla Muijrers drummer started playing the drums in the summer of 1997. A year later, he founded several bands in the Netherlands. Middle of the year he met bassist and singer Mahmood Abdul- Ghaffar. Together with him and another guitarist, they studied a number of songs under the name Black Star. They played mostly covers of Black Sabbath and Motorhead.

After some changes in the cast, Muijrers came up with guitarist Yousef Hatlani in contact, so that it joined in January 2003 the band. There were a few local gigs. As a second guitarist came a short time later Salem Sulaibikh for live performances the band. In the following months, the band held other regional performances. In 2004, guitarist Sulaibikh again left the band to form his own band.

After that the band started with writing their own material, which led to her debut album The Sound of Violence, which was released in 2004 on Sandstorms Records. The second album followed in 2011 and was called Cloaked in Darkness.

Style

The band plays aggressive thrash metal, which is inspired by the style from the San Francisco Bay Area.
