Mount Frakes

The Mount Frakes is an extinct shield volcano in Marie Byrd Land in Antarctica.
The counting of the Crary Mountains mountain reaches a height of 3654 m and forms with the Mount Steere and Mount Rees, two other volcanoes, a cohesive unit. The Boyd Ridge in the southeast completed the rough running in the NW / SE direction ridge of the Crary Mountains.
The mountain was named by the U.S. Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names ( ACAN ) by Lawrence A. Frakes, a geologist from the United States Antarctic Program ( USAP ).
