The Mount Hunter is with 4442 m the third highest mountain in the Alaska Range in Alaska. It is located in Denali National Park about 13 km south of Mount McKinley. A plateau glacier connects the main peak with the 4257 m high, south side peak.

In the language of Dena'ina, natives of Alaska, the mountain is called " Begguya ", which means " child of the Denali " ( " Denali " is the Athabaskan name for Mount McKinley ). Prospectors first called the mountain Mount Roosevelt. 1903 was Robert Dunn, a reporter for the New York Commercial Advertiser and participants of the McKinley expedition, Frederick Cook, a nearby summit to honor his aunt Anna Falconnet Hunter ( 1885-1941 ), who had financed his expedition participation, the name of Mount Hunter. This mountain now bears the name of Kahiltna Dome, while the name of Mount Hunter in 1906 based erroneously interpreted by a surveyor of the government on the mountain that bears this name today.

The first ascent was made on July 5, 1954 by Fred Beckey, Heinrich Harrer and Henry Meybohm on the west ridge. This increase is still regarded as the normal route to the summit.
