Mount Kaba

The Kaba ( Malay: Gunung Kaba ) is a twin volcano on the island of Sumatra in Hitam Mountains. He has a recessed summit crater complex, which is dominated by three historically active craters, the east-northeast pull off from the peak in the northeastern flank. The crater of Gunung Kaba, the southwest is the furthest, with the name Kawah Lama, is the largest of them.

Most historical eruptions affected only the summit region of the volcano. They came mostly the central summit craters, but also produced the location on the upper northeast flank crater Kawah Vogelsang eruptions during the 19th and 20th centuries. 1833 threw an eruption of water from the crater lake, which triggered lahars that caused serious damage and deaths in the villages Talang, Klingi and Bliti.

At the Kaba the Musi River, one of the largest rivers of Indonesia springs.
