The Musi is a 750 kilometer long river in Indonesia in the southeast of the island of Sumatra in the province of Sumatera Selatan springs ( to German South Sumatra ), of the Kaba volcano in Barisangebirge ( Bukit Barisan ).

After the Musi has passed the provincial capital of Palembang, he joins with other tributaries, forming at Sungsang the Musidelta.

Crash of SilkAir 185

On 19 December 1997 crashed a Boeing 737 ( flight Silk Air 185 ) on the flight from Jakarta to Singapore in the river. The crash cost all 104 people on board the aircraft life.
