Mount Malindig

The volcano Malindig, also called Marlanga, is a 1157 m high extinct stratovolcano in the Philippines. It is located on the island of Marinduque, west of Bondoc Peninsula, towering over the Sibuyan Sea. It lies in the south of the island in the municipality of Torrijos and Buenavista. To the north of the volcano lies the nature reserve of Marinduque Wildlife Sanctuary. The name of the mountain comes from the language Visayan Malindug is pronounced, meaning " steep and elegant."

The rock of the forested volcano is mainly composed of andesite. The main phase of its activities Malindig is not known, a more detailed exploration of the volcano is still pending. However, there are hot springs on the western foothills of the Malindig.
