He is in the Wrangell-St Elias National Park between White River in the north and Klutlan Glacier in the south, 98 km north-east of McCarthy.
The mountain is located in the catchment area of the Yukon River, which flows to the Bering Sea.
The name of the mount Natazhat is derived from the name of the Alaska Natives for the mountain and was first documented in 1891 by the United States Geological Survey.
