Mount Othrys

The Othrys (Greek Όθρυς ( f sg ) ) is a mountain in Greece, south of the plain of Thessaly.

The Othrys extends back as over 30 kilometers in length from west to east on the border between the Greek regions of Thessaly and Central Greece. The highest point is 1726 m of Othrys or Gerakovouni ( Γερακοβούνι ). To the north, on Thessalian side, borders the massif of Gouras, which rises to 1454 m.

In Greek mythology, the Otrhys was a venue of the Titan fights, which lies to the north of the plain of Thessaly. From Othrys of the Titans struggled against the Kroniden which had entrenched themselves on Mount Olympus.
