Mount Slamet

Slamet ( Indonesian Gunung Slamet ) is an active stratovolcano on the Indonesian island of Java. It is located in the province of Central Java, about 20 kilometers north of Purwokerto.

With a height of 3428 m, it is the second highest mountain in the island of Java. The volcano has several cinder cone on the southeast and northeast side of another cinder cone on the western flank.

Outbreaks are recorded since the 18th century. The last eruption took place in 2009.
