Mount Vernon is a city in Mobile County in the U.S. state of Alabama, with about 800 inhabitants. The municipal area covers 4.9 km ², of which 0.53% of water. Mount Vernon is located in the northeastern part of the county on the border of Baldwin County.

Three kilometers north of the town the steel mill ( mill ) of ThyssenKrupp USA is established, attention to himself made ​​with high construction costs and major losses in the operation and is now offered for sale shortly after start-up (September 2013).
