Movement for Sovereignty

Movimiento por la Soberanía (MPS ) (Spanish for: "Movement for Sovereignty ") is a leftist, indigenous political party in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The party was founded in 1997 by dissidents of the party Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS ), so by Lino Villca, Óscar Chirinos, Miguel Machaca and Rufo Calle. The MPS is currently led by Lino Villca, which ranked among the Bolivian regional elections of April 2010 at the Department of La Paz to count the votes in fourth place.

Since the 2010 regional elections, the MPS the mayor in the following six counties: Municipio Achacachi, Municipio Mecapaca, Municipio Escoma, Municipio Sorata, Municipio Combaya, and Municipio Pucarani.
