Mozambique Channel

Geographical location

The Mozambique Channel (also Mozambique Channel, Portuguese Canal de Moçambique ) is the name of the strait between Mozambique in the south-eastern part of Africa and the island of Madagascar. It is about 1,500 km long, 420-1000 km wide and is bounded to the north of the Comoros. In the strait are still Éparses some offshore islands like Bazaruto Mozambique and Ilha de Moçambique, some belonging to Madagascar islands such as Nosy Be, Nosy Hara and Nosy Mitsio, as well as three islands of the Îles.
