Mozambique Workers' Organization

The OTM -CS ( Organização dos trabalhadores moçambicanos - Central Sindical, German: Organization of Workers of Mozambique ), the Trade Union Confederation of the southeast African country of Mozambique. Under its umbrella there are 17 individual unions. Together claimed OTM -CS to represent 300,000 workers. Contributions paid by the worker are deducted directly from their wages.

History

In 1983, the organization was under the name Organização dos trabalhadores moçambicanos ( without the addition of Central Sindical ) established as an organ of the Marxist ruling party FRELIMO. FRELIMO took so founded the late 70s Conselhos de Produção (production councils) in an organization together. The OTM was more of a device for control of the workers, as their advocacy and came with the transformation of the country into a multi- party state into a crisis. Your little importance as advocacy was also the fact that they played no role in early 1990 in the wave of strikes. At its 2nd National Conference in November 1990, the OTM therefore announced her separation from the ruling party FRELIMO and took the name Additional Central Sindical (Central Union ) to distinguish it from its previous role.

  • Sindicato Nacional dos trabalhadores because indústria agro- Pecuária de Florestas ( SINTAF ) (National Workers Union of workers in the agricultural, livestock and forestry )
  • Sindicato Nacional dos trabalhadores da Industria Textil, vestuário, couro e Calçado ( SINTEVEC ) (National Workers Union of workers in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industry )
  • Sindicato Nacional dos trabalhadores because indústria do Açúcar ( Sintia ) (National Workers Union of workers of the sugar industry )
  • Sindicato Nacional dos trabalhadores because indústria alimentar e de bebidas ( SINTIAB ) (National Workers Union of Workers of the food and beverage industry)
