Mucky Pup

Mucky Pup is an American crossover band from Bergenfield, New Jersey, which was founded in 1986.

History

The band was formed in 1986 by guitarist Dan Nastasi, drummer John Milnes, singer Chris Milnes and bassist Scott LePage. After the first performances and the release of two demos, the band reached a deal with Torrid Records. This label debut album Can not You Take a Joke appeared? (1987). After the release of the album LePage left the band to return to Hades his old band, and was replaced by Dave Neabore. This was, however, also be heard only on the second album A Boy In a Man 's World ( 1988). Then he got out to start with Nastasi, John Milnes and singer John Connor, the band Dog Eat Dog in 1990. Nastasi was unable to attend the following tours by Sean Kilkenny so Mucky Pup joined and Nastasi represented. However, Kilkenny should also leave the band again soon and join as a second guitarist Dog Eat Dog.

In 1989, the album Now joined. On the album Nastasi was heard again, but he was represented on tour by guitarist Splatter, which was later replaced by Terry. As a bassist Marc DeBacker was in the band, which later Dog Eat Dog should join. In 1990, for the first time followed by Century Media album Act of Faith. It was represented as a keyboardist Kevin Powers. On the next album Lemonade Powers played a percussion since drummer John Milnes had switched to electric guitar. In the subsequent performances Eric Van Steenberg was represented as a second guitarist. Also Ludichrist and Scatterbrain guitarist Glen Cummings was at times part of the band. On the last album Five Guys In A Really Hot Garage the band consisted of drummer John Milnes, singer Chris Milnes, bassist Billy Miner and guitarist Jack Pitzer. The publication was followed by several tours, among others, along with Dog Eat Dog. End of the 1990s, the band split due to the greater success of Dog Eat Dog on for now. In subsequent years, the band held sporadic performances. As of 2009, the band played again regularly performs concerts and here was composed Nastasi, DeBacker, Powers and Pitzer. In the summer performances followed throughout Europe.

Style

The band plays a mix of hardcore punk and thrash metal, where the music is comparable to that of Anthrax and Stormtroopers of Death. The lyrics of the band are held comedic, where comparisons can be drawn with the Bloodhound Gang, with the songs of Mucky Pup be less pop. In addition, some influences from other genres, such as funk and hip -hop are heard.
