Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Kulayni
Muhammad ibn Yaqub al - Kulaini ( Muḥammad b Ya ʾ al - qūb Kulaini; . * 864, † 941) was a Shia scholar, Fiqh and Hadithkundiger ( Muhaddith ) of the Twelver Shia ( Imami ).
Little is known about Kulainis life. He first studied at the Theological College in Ray (or Rey, near the modern Tehran ) and moved to Baghdad later. He was a leader of the Shiites under the reigning Abbasid caliph al - Muqtadir.
Kitab al - Kafi
Kulaini is the compiler of the famous Shi'ite hadith collection Kitaab al - Kafi ( الكافي, al - Kafi, the sufficient ') of the Twelver Shia, the most important and valuable book of Kutub Arba'a - the four most important Hadithwerke the Shiites - the the Shiites is next to the Koran as an important guide.
